Broker Accounts
For MantaRisk to operate an account must be associated with one or more brokers. At a minimum this allows MantaRisk to advise on the size / notional value of an order. This also enables advanced features such as trading journal analysis and portfolio monitoring.
By default, a user is provided with a Paper Account which is a dummy broker account.
Please drop us a message here if your broker is not yet covered by MantaRisk.
Add or remove broker accounts to enable features such as Trading Analysis and Order Validation. Broker connections are secure:
- Connections are read-only meaning MantaRisk cannot alter your broker account e.g. place orders or alter trades;
- Once you have entered your account details they cannot be retrieved from our API which means that nobody else can read them again, not even you;
- All and any information pertaining to your account is deleted once you delete the account.
This is the default broker account provided to new users. You can create as many Generic Accounts as you want and can specify how much fund each account has upon creation.
- Press the Add Broker button
- Select Generic Account
- Type a name for your account
- Specify the amount of capital your account will start with in the Starting Funds field
- Press Add Broker
This allows IG customers to connect to their IG accounts.
Important notes:
- No market data is pulled from IG. Depending on your type of account and specifically for CFDs and spreadbetting, this means there may be discrepancies between the data you see on your IG screen and the data used for the computations. For instance, Apple will be an "All Session" in IG whereas our data covers standard market open / close times.
- MantaRisk operates on a read-only basis with your account meaning your data and capital are safe.
- Once entered, your API key and password cannot be pulled out of MantaRisk. If these are incorrect or change, simply delete your existing broker account in MantaRisk and create a new one.
- Navigate to "My IG"
- Click on the "Settings" tab
- Click on the "API keys" button under "Trade settings" on the side menu
- In the "Create a new Web API key" section, provide a name, accept the Terms and Conditions and press the "Generate new Key" button.
- Copy this key in the Web API key field
- Input your identifier (email / username used to log into your IG account) in the Email/usernamefield
- Input your account id (referenced as "Acc no" on the top right of the web trading platform e.g. ABCDE) in the Account IDfield
- Input your password in the Password field
- Press Add Broker
